Retrofit & Intelligent Irrigation System

In the spring of 2010, Denton Independent School District engaged TDIndustries to complete a $1.3 million energy retrofit project for 18 school buildings. The scope included:

• Providing a lighting retrofit to existing fixtures;
• Installing room lighting occupancy sensors;
• Installing emergency lighting systems;
• Providing a Building Automation System retrofit;
• Installing a new Intelligent Irrigation System to control irrigation to sports fields and green belts adjacent to District facilities to lower water consumption.

These improvements allowed Denton ISD to go above and beyond the State's requirements of measuring and reducing electrical costs in their facilities.
