TDIndustries Wins First Place in AGC/Willis Construction Safety Excellence Award
TD Brings Home Top Award for Quality Safety Program
Dallas, Texas – The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America, the organization behind the Willis Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEAs), recently ranked construction safety programs and selected winners from dozens of firms. Competing companies presented their safety programs during the Annual Convention held March 18-20, 2015 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
TDIndustries (TD) was selected as this year’s First Place winner in the Specialty Division’s Over 1 Million Work Hour category based on the company’s guidance in safety and occupation health management, risk control, safety training, work site hazard identification and control and safety program. In addition to a detailed written submission, a presentation by two company representatives followed by a grueling question-and-answer session were part of the judging criteria. TDPartners Dave Youden, Senior Vice President, and Jamie Dabbs, Senior Safety Manager, presented the TDIndustries’ safety culture and accepted the award. “Winning the CSEA would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication to upholding high safety standards from all TDPartners working across all of our business units. I was very proud to accept this award alongside Dave Youden on behalf of TDIndustries,” says Dabbs.
Al Landes, the association’s past president and president and COO of St. Joseph, Mo.-based Herzog Contracting Corp. said, “The most important thing any construction firm can build is its safety culture. Firms like this send a clear message to their industry peers that we can never take the health and safety of our workers for granted.”
Landes also added that there is a panel of five independent safety professionals from government, corporate and insurance companies. Thirty seven companies were named the nation’s safest companies in multiple categories based on the size of the company, the amount of work performed and the type of work performed.
