TDIndustries Earns National Excellence in Construction Award from Associated Builders and Contractors

Dallas, TX – The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced that TDIndustries has earned a prestigious Pyramid Award in the Mechanical category of ABC’s Excellence in Construction Awards for the Pakland Central Utility Plant (CUP) in Dallas, Texas. TDPartner Tony Creed, Superintendent on the Parkland CUP, accepted the award on March 5, 2015 during the 25th annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebrations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “I am proud to have worked on the Parkland CUP that will support the new Parkland Hospital. The team was outstanding, and I am happy to accept the award that recognizes all our hard work, dedication and innovation brought to this project!”

“I am proud to recognize TDIndustries for winning an Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award in the Mechanical category and representing ABC and the merit shop construction industry in the best way possible,” said 2015 ABC National Chair Pamela Volm, president of Annapolis Contracting, Inc., Annapolis, Maryland. “Their project truly shows how being committed to innovation, quality and safety can produce impressive results.”

The Excellence in Construction awards program is in the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects. The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.

A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges. This year’s panel included representatives from the Design-Build Institute of America, Engineering News-Record, the American Institute of Architects, the National Association of Women in Construction and representatives from higher education, among others.
