Quality goes hand-in-hand with every aspect of a TDIndustries project, and the reason is simple: “Quality work ensures project success and engages repeat customers,” says Quality Control Manager Jim Bob McGuire, a 23-year employee-owner. TD’s quality assurance and control (QA/QC) partners work with our project teams to verify that our systems are installed cleanly and accurately. TD meets tight deadlines without sacrificing the project’s quality, ensuring the project stays on track.
Responsibilities of QA/QC technicians include monitoring quality observations for project deficiencies. The construction software tool Procore helps TD teams log information regarding the quality of equipment and allows QA/QC partners to review data, thereby understanding lessons learned and discovering trends to improve on future projects.
TD’s Project Planning Process (PPP) and Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) are additional resources that help teams collaborate and review projects with the goal of delivering quality results. These PPP sessions and QAPs consider past experiences with specific customers, sectors or products and represent a systematic procedure for defect prevention, quality measurement and recognition processes.
Quality Touches 100% of a Project
QA/QC managers and superintendents review a project and submit requests for more information to make sure their teams are set up for success from the beginning. From engineering to virtual design and construction, there is a commitment to design a project with exact specifications to what the field team will be building and installing.
Understanding city-specific restrictions and codes are additional responsibilities of QA/QC managers to avoid the risk of re-work. Even during final testing, TD is committed to ensuring all customers have peace of mind knowing they received a high-quality product.
Passionately Pursue Excellence
With a tailored training approach, TD quality partners are required to do most of the same training as field partners. “To best support our customers and field partners, our quality technicians need to fully understand constructability and compliance challenges,” says McGuire.
High-quality construction stands the test of time. McGuire looks back with pride knowing he had a hand in building enduring community staples including AT&T Stadium and Dickies Arena.
The lasting effects of a high-quality project cannot be overstated. With TD’s commitment and core value to passionately pursue excellence, QA/QC partners are on the front lines to consistently provide all customers with quality results to meet their unique project goals.
