TDIndustries and Construction Education Foundation Unveil Dallas College Construction Sciences Building in Coppell

DALLAS - (November 17, 2021) – TDIndustries, Inc. and the Construction Education Foundation of North Texas are proud to announce that the new Dallas College Construction Sciences Building is now open for eager apprentices looking to launch a career in the skilled trades. With a national shortage of skilled workers, the new building and longtime program provide hope and growth to an industry expanding each day.

"National Apprenticeship Week is the perfect time to share our excitement for the new CEF space at Dallas College," said TD Senior Vice President and CEF Chairman of the Board David Fultz. "This extraordinary facility demonstrates the investment and commitment behind CEF’s mission to offer best-in-class construction training to improve the student experience for years to come.”

The state-of-the-art 97,000 square-foot building includes 11 interactive, high-tech laboratories and 24 classrooms to support education in the latest construction technologies, systems and methods. The new building is designed with designated areas for in-progress building construction, sheet metal fabrication, carpentry, plumbing, roofing, electrical, HVAC, welding, pipefitting and more.

"An undertaking of this magnitude was not an easy endeavor," said CEF President and Executive Director Jane Hanna. "Over the last six years, we have been working hard to plan, fundraise and cast a vision of what this new building will hold for individuals pursuing a career in construction. This completed facility enables us to continue to elevate the level of workforce training that is now required by our industry.”

TD contributed to the new space by donating and installing the Controls/Building Automation System. TD also helped support and organize the overall fundraising and planning effort to reach successful completion this year.

Construction Education Foundation of North Texas or better known as CEF, Inc. administrative offices are now located in the new building. The new building is a partnership with CEF/Dallas College/Ascend Institute. CEF is dedicated to providing students and employees in the construction industry avenues of broadening their skill levels and providing classes that will enable them to further advance within their current employment situation or to further advance their construction industry careers.
