TDIndustries Congratulates 2023 CEF Graduating Class

Construction industry professionals, family, friends and TDIndustries’ employee-owners filled the Westin Hotel in Irving, Texas, on June 15, 2023, to congratulate the firm’s 24 Construction Education Foundation (CEF) graduates as they crossed the stage to accept their certificates at the 2023 CEF Graduation and Award Ceremony. CEF’s renowned program strives to provide the construction industry with the most highly qualified and technically well-trained professionals in the industry. Graduating students completed rigorous coursework and practical training to expand their knowledge of their trade specialties. The students representing TDIndustries comprised a substantial portion of this year’s CEF graduating class – a testament to the quality of TDIndustries’ workforce.

Further demonstrating the talent among TD’s tradespeople, three of the top graduates in the electrical, pipefitting and welding trade specialties are TD employee-owners. Brian Hovey graduated at the top of his class in the electrical specialty. Kaylin Leas received top honors in the pipefitting category. In addition, Gerber Recinos Gomez graduated at the top of his class in the welding specialty. Kaylin Leas also received the distinguished FLAME Mechanical Excellence Awards, celebrating the personal and academic qualities that CEF deems integral to success in the construction industry.

CEF and TDIndustries were also extraordinarily well-represented during the National Trade Championships. During the graduation ceremony, CEF recognized TDIndustries’ six National Craft Championship competitors, among whom were the gold and silver medal winners for pipefitting, the bronze medal winner for plumbing and the Safety Award Winner in the sheet metal team event.

TD sincerely appreciates team members Ken Luong, senior project manager, and David Fultz, executive vice president of Fort Worth and West Texas, for serving as officers on CEF’s Executive Board. Fultz also served as past board chair. “These students embody TDIndustries’ core value of passionately pursuing excellence and their hard work, dedication and sacrifice elevates TDIndustries’ status as an industry leader,” said Fultz. “We recognize that our talented tradespeople and skilled workers are the backbone of our company and the industry, and we are genuinely proud.” TD also thanks its employee-owners who serve as CEF Trade Council members and 2022-2023 instructors.

The TD family extends its heartfelt congratulations to its employee-owners among the CEF class of 2023. The unwavering commitment to honing their skills has made this remarkable accomplishment possible.
