In 2013, TDIndustries was contracted to expand the Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. The expansion is comprised of three major components: a new central plant, a new tower and the renovation of an existing tower.

The CUP portion consisted of two 1500-ton chillers and one 200-ton heat pump chiller, as well as two cooling towers and 4-5 million BTU condensing boilers. The new tower consists of four mechanical rooms, one lab main floor, OR levels and patient rooms to round out the rest of the building.  The entire new tower has seven above-ground floors and two sub-levels of work with approximately 310,000 sf.

The renovation scope is approximately 85,000 sf and includes a major renovation of the emergency department and library. The project is managed through an integrated project delivery approach and TD is providing heavy engineering support to complete the project.
